Mermaid Halloween Makeup

Image
"Up where they walk..Up where they run.. up where they stay all day in the sun.. wondering free.. wish i could be.. part of you world" Happy Halloween Eve ! So this year i was torn into what i wanted to be for halloween. It was between a mermaid and a lion/tiger. Well i decided that i wanted to be a lion/tiger the day of halloween. But i did not want my mermaid fantasy to go in vain.. so here it is! AHH! This was so much fun to do. here is a quick break down of what i did to achieve this look: -Apply your foundation, concealer, powder and bronzer as usual - Now decide what colors you want to work with. i went with greens, blues and purple. - I have this Kat Von D palette called Esperanza. Whenever i use this palette i feel like i am doing a mermaid look. On the lid i used Santeria, which is a dark glittery green. Then in the crease i mixed Archangel (mint green) and South (skin tone brown). As a brow and inner corner highlight, i used Dayg...

Grey Lipstick.. Yes..? or No...?

Hello Everyone! As you get to know me, you will come to the conclusion that i LOVE to be out of the box when it comes to makeup. I love trying new and daring things to switch up my look. One day i came across this picture of this BEAUTIFUL lipstick that i had to buy. It is by Coloured Raine and it is called Studio 54. Now this color is so unique! It is this gorgeous grey color that can come off a little light blue depending on you skin tone and the lighting. This might be too much for some people but step out of your comfort zone and see what can happen! Here are some pictures of the product with and without flash: I just love this color! A bold lip and some neutral eyes can really make a look! When i apply this product i first applied some black eyeliner to line my lips. I then blended it out with my finger to give it this grey/black look. After that i applied the lipstick straight away and over the black liner around my lips and this is what it looks like finished...

Cleaning Makeup Brushes.....

Image
Welcome Back , So let's get to it. I can not stress enough how important it is to wash/deep clean/ spot clean makeup brushes. The amount of bacteria and left over makeup on those brushes can cause acne and other things to your face if you are not to careful. So i decided to share with you my quick and simple way to clean your makeup brushes.  So to start off here is a picture of my dirty makeup brushes: Before i found this product that was quick and simple, i used to use Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo and Conditioner. This method gets the job done but it is very time consuming. So i discovered the Blender Cleanser Solid "Beauty Blender".  It can be found in Sephora.  This product makes life so much easier! All you do is open it up, wet your brush a little with warm water then  swirl the brush in the solid , lather it up in the palm of your hand and finally rinse it out until the water from the brush runs clean. You lay it down to dry ...

My Makeup Inspirations....

HAPPY SUNDAY EVERYONE! Since it is Sunday and we all are relaxing from our long hard week, let's just chat about makeup. Now while we are perfecting our own signature looks day by day, there must be someone we are inspired by or trying to portray while we do our makeup. I have about a handful or so people I look up to for makeup looks that i want to share with you today. So sit back and i hope you enjoy! Jessica Simpson : We all went through that Team Britney and Team Christina phase in the late 90's and early 2000's. But I on the other hand was Team Jessica  all the way and up to this day i still am! I think she is the most beautiful person inside and out. FUN FACT : The reason why i am blonde is inspired by her also and i love it! Jessica has this natural look that looks like it took no time at all when in reality it did take a lot of effort. She compliments her tan skin with browns, bronzes, peaches, nudes and pink hues. Her complexion is perfection a...

Makeup Look Using Naked 2 Palette

Image
Hey everyone! So here's another makeup look I did on my cousin Ann. We had a blast and wanted to play around with some makeup and false lashes. She is a natural beauty and really does not need an ounce of makeup so I knew it would be so easy to do her makeup. She wanted a night out makeup look so I pulled out my naked 2 pallete and really focused on the silvers and greys  for her look. This pallete is worth the money. You get a huge selection of shadows perfect for literally any look!  On her lips I applied Mac Cream Cup lipstick, which is a Holy Grail Product in my book! I did a soft contour, blush and highlight on her using the BH cosmetics San Francisco palette.  And topped the look off with some Ardell Natural False lashes. She looks so beautiful with or without makeup. Hope you guys enjoyed the look 😊😊😊  XO ASHLEY

Makeup of the Day

Image
Hey Everyone! So if you live in NYC you know that it is starting to feel like fall right about now. It has been raining all week and the wind is out of this world. Before i headed out today to do things on my list of errands, i wanted to do a makeup look that wasn't dark and gloomy like the weather here. I went for a coral lip and daytime glam eyes. Hope you enjoy this look. It was based around my new Gerard Cosmetics lipstick in Tequila Sunrise. I am absolutely in love with this shade, not just because my favorite mixed drink is Tequila Sunrise but because this matte lipstick has amazing color payoff and last a REAL long time. That is an A+ in my book!  On the eyes I've used all Mac Cosmetics. MAC shadows  are truly the best in my opinion. the shades are: Honey Lust, Texture, Brun, Nylon, Brule and Shroom.  XO ASHLEY

Hey Everyone! So we all have our favorite makeup looks, some like it natural and flirty and other like it dark, vampy and mysterious. Personally i love both but on myself I'm more of a lets go out of the box add that glitter and have that contour/highlight on POINT. This look i am sharing with you today I've done on myself. A real dramatic, dark smokey eye (with lots of my favorite thing ever.... GLITTER) with a matte nude/dusty rose lip.  I would rock this look all the time just because i love like i stated, real dark, vampy, mysterious, eye catching makeup that would make people stop in there tracks and ask what i have on and how i did it. I love telling everyone and anyone my secrets makeup wise ;) Hope You Enjoy this makeup look and i will list what i used to achieve this look below : XO ASHLEY Face: Mac Matchmaster Foundation (4.0 & 5.0 mixed)           Mac Pro Longwear Concealer - Nc35         ...
